Probably not exactly CCW, but I do carry my .44 Special FlatTop around the farm including on a tractor, on a 4 wheeler and in the pickup. I prefer to have it covered with a jacket although it really doesn't matter.

I've never tackled a Blackhawk, but have concealed a P90...the P90 is do-able but it gets quite heavy after a while.

Super Blackhawk, i CC or OC it on occasion, prefer the S&W m60 but i'm so used to carrying my 4.5/8 hogleg i hardly notice it holstered under a jacket or butt forward on my weak side with the loading gate open to keep it from sliding down. Not my prefered carry method but in a pinch it'll work, with my belt loosened up and my shirt untucked it actually hides fairly well. It worked for men a 100 years ago it works fine for me. I wish i could find some .44 Special XTP's to carry in it instead of magnum XTP's or handloads:S but as i said its not my primairy carry.

Here in TN we don't have CCW's. We have an HCP which allows open or concealed. Having said that I don't know that my BH would be my first choice.

I have been carrying a NMBH .41 magnum. 4 5/8" barrel. Mernickle highride holster. Winter coats, sports coats or shirt tails out. No problem other than the weight. Get a real good pistol belt.

I have and will again in special circumstances, such as a bicycle on the way to the woods. Just need a long cover shirt.
Probably not practical for other times----though in winter it would work with the right coat or jacket and the places you go do not get too hot.

Awards Showcase

I CC a 4/58 .44 SP BH and a Montado all the time. Good leather, no problem.

When the Ruger Blackhawk is mention I think SA, and most CCW classes frown upon a SA revolver for self defense.

I just posted I carry a bisley vaquero 51/2 in a Mernickel holster. I carry when at my business. in NJ you have to own the property not just lease it.
