If so how do you store your truck gun and where? ( either pistol or rifle)

I always carry a handgun on my person, thinking along the same lines as Old Shooter. But I do keep an 14" Remington 870 SBS between the seat and the center console when I am out and about. Goes back in the house when I get home.

it's not even brandishing is someone happens to see it... unless you are displaying it or waving it around specifically FOR people to see it.

most states have restrictions on where you can carry, so there are known situations where you MUST remove your gun and put it in a lock box or glove box or under the seat to (bar, church, school, courthouse, police station, or other no-gun zone... different from state to state).

i usually tuck my shirt between the gun and my body when i am in my truck to make it more accessible. if someone can see it - when putting it in a lock box or glove box - they can just as easily see it on my hip. currently in Ohio you cannot just have a gun on your seat, or even in a car/dash holster (it has to be in a box or container with a lid or something that covers it and snaps, zips, or latches... if it is not actually on your person.

there are bills up to remove these car requirements (as well allowing bar/restaurant carry).

i have a small lock box (secured my cable) that i lock my gun up in when must enter a CPZ. if i carry a second "truck gun" (in addition to the one on my person), i put in the same box.

the nice thing about a truck in most cars are below your window-level and cannot see much, especially not at belt/seat level.

I just ask because my CCL instructor taught that here it cannot be seen at all by anyone or it can be considered brandishing. I am sure 99% of the time I would not have a problem just unholstering and placing it in a lock box, but I live in Houston, where someone is always watching. With the crime rates here, someone is bound to see and either try to steal it or call the cops, depending on which side of the law they are on. Of course that is where the lock box comes in, but you still have to replace a window or door lock...
