I plan on training with it to draw, flip the safety off, fire 4 rounds, then
re-holster the firearm as i put the safety on.
Since it is a new firearm, i feel that training this way from the start will give me the safest plan. Also, if i begin to feel the threat level start to slowly escalate i can always put my hand on the firearm and then go safety off before drawing. if the thread subsides, i will go safety back on and nobody is the wiser. | My exact plan also. I'm really liking this new SR9c.

Having owned mainly 1911's, I automatically use the thumb safety. Did it the first time on my new SR9C without even thinking. No sense trying to retrain myself. Always one in chamber, and racking the slide is just plain too hard on this pistol anyway.

My firearm is always in great condition. Cleaned after every use and sometimes in between, just because I like to handle it! LOL
But to answer the op one in the pipe and full mag for my SR40. My finger is the primary safety.

Condition one. Regardless of the weapon, always one in the pipe.
LC9 (one in the pipe with lock on)
XD9sc (one in the pipe - there is no lock)
Frankly, your trigger finger and what is between your ears are the best safeties. I am sometimes concerned about keeping the LC9 locked. With the long trigger pull, the lock is not really needed for safety. It is important to have any concealed carry weapon in a good holster.
When I think of carrying my new SR1911, I would definitely use the lock when carrying one in the pipe. The trigger is so sensitive, I would be afraid of developing a new disease called "Ruger" leg without using the lock. Just my preference.

I perused some of the threads here but didn't see a comment about these types of weapons.
How should you CC your weapon? Cocked and Locked? Empty chamber? etc.
I'm specifically interested in all types of carry, IWB and OWB.
How 'safe' are the safety features of the SR9c, etc.
My friend and I are having a disagreement on this right now.
Appreciate all comments. | Carry it how you like, but I carry mine cocked and locked with one in the chamber. Just don't forget to lock if you decide to carry that way. The SR9c has a great trigger but theoretically, it could be easier to AD without the lock.
I carry all my carry guns +1, cocked and they all have a thumb lock which I use. I like variety with my carry gun and the mechanics on them are basically the same.
Some guys don't like safeties. I do. But ultimately it's up to you.

One in the chamber, safety on. As has been talked about before, train to push off the safety on draw.

SR9C - Round in chamber, safety on, holstered. I train in this manner of draw and firing. Works for me.
