My wife has taken the CCW classes a couple of times and is has a lot of other training. Her problem is that she is Canadian and has to wait to get her landed immigrant status before she can apply for CCW.
She ensures that I carry all the time.

My wife is a good shot but does not use guns. She will pick up a Butchers Knife or a stick in a Heartbeat and she is no one to trifle with. I don't understand it myself. "Sometimes I think she dated Jackie Chan before me". I know she grew up with lots of brothers and dirt poor. She's a heck of a gal. I guess now that the old chest wound is giving me problems and with the left leg full of metal "I'm retiring" she feels it's time to do my job. Part of that is ensuring protection defense and security. I would give my life for her and the kids. It's my job to carry, not hers. Retirement? Yea right, Once a Marine always a Marine.

I agree with Leatherneck. My wife has shot with me 20 years ago, but now thinks it is a mid life thing. No support from her or daughter. My sons love it though. Have never carried, but am thinking of it now. Won't THAT make life great? LOL

My "significant other" supports my right to carry and even feels safer knowing that I do. She likes handgun shooting but has no plans to get a license to carry herself.

I also enjoy shooting with the Mrs..Has her carry license since 2005.. She realizes and rightly so that we are our own first line of defense..

My wife has two CCW permits. A NC and FL Non Resident. She doesn't carry as much as I do. She says when I'm with you have a gun on so she doesn't feel the need to carry it as often as I wish she would. I guess I'm just a fanatic. I don't leave the house without something on. I hate having to take it off to go in restricted places like the bank or to a restaurant that severs alcohol.

One of the many wonderful things my late father-in-law did was to give my wife a good education about firearms when she was a little girl. They spent a lot of time shooting 22s in the woods in back of their house. (I later gladly became the son he never had.) She does not carry but is glad I do and pretty much assumes I am armed all the time, which is true. She gave me an RCBS Pro 2000 Progressive Reloading Press for Christmas and now refers to the garage as "the bullet factory". Do I feel lucky? You betcha!

My wife is more worried about the current state of things than I am. I usually open carry unless going somewhere public. I can't carry to work since I teach high school. But when out on the road or at the farm, I am always carrying one way or the other. Oh yeah, I carry most of the time at home too.
