My wife was fine with me buying my pistol and getting the license. Several times we would be out and she would ask me if I was carrying, as if it she felt they were times I should not be carrying (mainly road trips, when I feel it is most important). Then the other day a transformer blew up and she thought it was a gunshot. First thing she asked was "Where's your gun?!" From then on she hasn't given me anymore heck about it. It is funny how something so simple would scare her enough to stop.

Mine used to hate guns before we were married, now she feels better off if I have one
as opposed to not.

My wife got her gun permit at my strong suggestion (even if she NEVER shoots, she needed a permit in order to handle my guns if I'm unable to do so, as we are in a permit-required-to-possess state). The live-fire portion of the Basic Pistol class was the first time she had shot.

She now has her permit, bought her first gun, and shoots casually and in pin-n-plate shoots with me. She doesn't carry concealed, but has access to the bedroom lockbox (MA again)... she works in a state-mandated prohibited place, so she doesn't have much opportunity to carry.

My live-in girlfriend is great about it. When we go out on the town, she asks if I will be armed... because it makes her more comfortable if I am! I didn't know her views on the whole thing at the beginning of our relationship, and I am so grateful to have found that she is very into guns. Her dad and grandpa were competitive shooters, and (with virtually no practice on her part) she is a better shot than I am! Must be in the genes

I voted "other":
Mine would like me to CCW if I could get a permit.
She's not ready to herself, but is in favor of doing so in principle.

My wife too, has been around guns all her life. Spent 30+ years working in a non commissioned capacity in law enforcement agencies. She has no interest in firearms herself, but supports the fact that I carry. So much so, that recently, we made a trip to Cook county, Illinois. I told her that I was considering not taking a firearm along, as this was our destination. All she said was, yes you are. The rest is history. She drove in the state of Illinois, so that in a routine traffic stop, my Texas CHL might not be detected. I know it was a risk, but that's a long trip to make unarmed.

I guess we need to go to some sort of gun counciling.

Same here in my house. My wife actually has never seen me carry. I've been carrying for about a year now. She understands and supports my purchase and owning guns, just not carrying it. In the house she just prefers not to know they are around. Wierd situation that eventually will come to a head. Really crazy is she was raised a Minnesota farm girl that has a family that hunts everything.

Mrs. JimB120 has her own HCP.

She occassionaly has the SR9c with her, but when we're out together she expects me to tote around the firearms.

She was a little reluctant to tell her family she had it, but came to find out most of them had been shooting for years, including her mother.

That's not Neutral, shes taking the kids away from danger!
