I guess we need to go to some sort of gun counciling.

Hi Stickey

I saw "I remember you stated, you moved out of Jersey. I guess that's how you got a CCW. Good for you, and be safe. " and it made me notice I need to update my profile.

Done so now !! Thanks.

Awards Showcase

My wife just signed her and her Mom up for "ladies night" at the range. After that she will take the concealed carry class. We live in a very safe and nice area, but recently crime has been creeping in "even here"......

I carry, wife carries. She's recently taken over my S&W Bodyguard .38 Spl, so I am trying to finagle a deal for another one.

Im taking my CCW this Saturday! i cant wait. My wife wanted me to take it but she does not shoot handguns, only shotguns. I think she understands what it means to me and that is important otherwise she would not be asking me to take it. I love my wife

slinger56 is an unknown quantity at this point
My wife has always supported me. 2 years ago after 2 crazy things happens to us within a 3 week period, she looked at me and said " I think it's time I learn how to use a gun". It's sad that life has come to this.

Generally, women tend to be profiled as a victim more than a 220 LB guy would. I fully support women who carry as well,,,so much that I am getting ready to start conducting "ladies days" training.

If she knows how and when to use a hand gun it does level the playing field in a hurry.
Sincerely

My wife is very comfortable - and sometimes comforted - by the fact that I carry much of the time. When in an area or situation that has the potential to be uncomfortable, she will sometimes ask me if I'm carrying. On occasions when she or my daughter have to go to particular areas of the city, they will ask me to accompany them and be sure I'm carrying. My wife shoots well and intends to get her CC permit soon.

Interestingly enough my wife has always been around guns though she's never showed much of an interest in them other than how to pull the trigger if she had to in the home. I also grew up with guns and was in the military for 20, the last 5 of which was in the Special Ops arena where I had one with me almost all the time. She's very supportive of them and I wasn't sure how much until the last few months where I'm doing security work locally. You don't HAVE to have a weapon, you are just nudged towards CC. I mentioned this to her and she pushed me to get it (surprise one). When I was trying to figure out which to carry she said that we couldn't do it this week, but next week I need to buy a holster! (surprise two) I said they're about $100 and she said she figured that (surprise 3). I figured out I'll be wearing my Colt 1911 when she said maybe you should look at getting something a little smaller.. to which I said that they weren't cheap and she stated .. didn't think so (surprise 4).
I guess I'm not sure where she's coming from in her own mind.. we've been married 31 years and she has a way of surprising me continuously..

wife support

Basically don't ask don't tell! She is afraid of guns, worries about grandkids getting at them, does not want to hear any different.

Just for the record......I have been carrying from day 1 of my CCW, 4 monthsago. 18hrs a day, every day!!

Hopefully i will never use it, but if I did ,I would accept her aapology

Since my wife has no say in the matter She really has no opinion, has never said a word either way,and knows it wouldn't matter if she did!

My wife was not accustomed to guns when we got married and had to take them with me. Our kids were raised with them , taught proper safety, and they were never an issue. Now my grandkids are getting the same treatment. While I have never told them I carry, when they feel it on my hip it is just expected to be there, a part of me they accept.

When the wife and I were dating years ago, I owned a couple of Rugers and we would target shoot on weekends. Then came kids, short of cash, sold guns, etc. Now are kids are raised, I decided to buy a Ruger SR9 and then begin talking about taking the CCW class. She then decided she wanted to go as well so I bought her the SR9C. I was pleasantly surprised she still had this interest and it was a pleasure to take the CCW class together. She prefers the SR9 over the SR9C but I'm not sure yet what she will carry, but certain she will. Guess I'm pretty lucky that we share a common hobby like this.
