My wife MAY carry but will need to start with a 22 cal pistol to get her used to the BANG.
Though she is hesitant withe idea of shooting another human, she expresses NO concern to do so if someone invades our home and attempts to harm anyone in har family - even using the family 12 gauge!

She's fine with the idea of me having my ccw and I hope she will get hers as well. She works in downtown Denver and there are lots of loons there.

She had a CCW in MA. She has one in WI now that it is law. Can OC in WI. She has different handguns, pepper spray, kubotan.
She is not as interested in carrying. Her choice.
I have been doing more OC in WI since it was legitimized and defined more with the implementation of CCW law a year ago. OC is easier to set up and plan for, but I have done CCW.
Women have an extra option, and a good one of having a carry pocketbook. Maybe some day it will be more popular.

I'm lucky in the fact that my wife is very supportive of my guns and that i carried even before it was legal in Wisconsin. She wants to obtain her CCW but just hasn't had the time to take the class. But she does indeed enjoy shooting which is why i bought her A SIG P238, her new protector when i'm not at home and she knows how to use it quite well.

I just began carrying and my wife has been very supportive. My son and I took the CCW class together and now she is kind of upset she didn't go. I told her it was good father-son bonding time. She loves to shoot and will probably get her ccw next year.

My spouse attended the CC classs with me, qualified (shot better than all of us guys;-) and obtained her concealed carry permit. We have since purchased a couple of Rugers (LCR & SR9C), and the decision on which ones have been hers. Although she hasn't (as of yet) carried, she fully supports (and, appreciates) the fact that I do.

I am slowly working on her. Trying to convince her to get a CC permit. I think my youngest daughter will beat her to the prize though! She (daughter) has taken a real interest in target shooting and is not afraid to fire whatever I put in her hands!

My wife had her permit when we married and MADE me get mine as soon as I turned 21. She did think they were only for keeping a gun in the vehicle and couldn't understand why anyone would carry one all the time. I never bothered carrying all the time, but would drop a 38 spl in the coat pocket if we were going somewhere sketchy.
Fastforward to this year and the guys at work kept encouraging me to carry all the time, so I bought the LCP and have been. I didn't think she would support this at all, but Saturday she had to go to town and I couldn't go with her - she asks can I borrow your 380 while I go...
I guess she got use to it in the short time I have been carrying.

My wife has carried for over twenty years. After watching Obama’s speech on the news last night she said, “You should go stock up on anything we need tomorrow morning.”

Spouse does not carry and would prefer I not a carry but will support me when I do carry.
She doesn't see the need but until something happens who does see the future.

| I clicked "Other", here's my explaination.
My wife recently took an interest in shooting and in concealed carry just before these mall and school shootings.
Unfortunate that prices have skyrocketed, but bought our carry weapons after these terrible incidents.
She loves her Springfield Arms XD9 and XD40 Subcompacts.
I traded in a Hi-Point JCP40 and a Walther PK380 on an SR9c and SR40c.
The JCP40 was a good shooter after I polished up the feed ramp and dressed the top of the mags with a file.
The Walther shot about 9 inches low at 30ft. Don't miss that one.
She fired my SR40c and was surprised at the difference in recoil (less) to her XD40.
She can't wait to get her hands on the SR9c now!
We are both scheduled for concealed carry classes, hers in February (ladies only), I'm in March. |
