Who Carries What, and How?

I like striker fired guns the best, but have no problem with hammers either. I prefer an external safety if available. Just one more layer of prevention of negligent discharges. Cocked & Locked! I was trained with semi autos, with a safety, and have absolutely no problem sweeping the safety during presentation. It's just automatic, like breathing. If carrying my Beretta Px4 Storm (Exposed Hammer), I carry it with hammer de-cocked, in double action. (Rarely a reason to carry this gun)

Primarily, I carry striker, chambered, with safety on, IWB.

As an aside, here are my preferred carry guns, which I only carry concealed, IWB Kydex, or fanny pack (belly bag). I only list the Beretta because it is a (BIG) sub compact, and can be carried concealed. All weights are fully loaded. I don't list short revolvers, because I just don't carry revolvers any longer. I also don't list micro semis like the Beretta Bobcat or Tomcat, because I rarely have a reason to carry them. They are tiny though, should the need arise!

Taurus* * * * * * PT738* * *.380cal* * 7 shot* *12.9oz a true sub compact
Taurus* * * * * * PT709* * * 9mm* * * 8* * * * * 22.9* * a slightly smaller compact, still easy to hide
Taurus* * * * * * PT111G2* 9* * * * * *13* * * * *27.0* * this is my favorite concealed carry piece **
S&W* * * * * * * *M&P9c* * *9* * * * * *13* * * * *30.7
Beretta* * * * * * Px4 SC* * 9* * * * * *14* * * * *30.9* * this is really a compact by size - big & Ugly
Ruger* * * * * * * RAP C* * *9* * * * * *14* * * * *34.4* * I really like this gun, might start carrying when holster gets here

The little Taurus 738 is very useful, when you really have to hide one really good. DAO. Also a good backup.
The 709 is useful when you want something bigger than the 738, and smaller than a double stack.
The 111 is my favorite CC gun, because it is so comfortable, small and light for a double stack, and decent capacity.
The M&P9c is a nice gun, but I don't shoot it real well - I gotta try a smaller back strap - just noticed it is fat!
The RAP C is a really nice gun, looks great, shoots great, nice capacity - I really like this gun!
The Px4 Storm Sub Compact is really ugly, but has great capacity, and is a sweet shooter. My bedroom gun!

Holy crap - I've got 6 carry guns - I've gotta stop buying!

I carry a Kahr CM45, with a 6 round extended magazine, for a capacity of 6+1, either in a jacket pocket during cooler weather, or in a Kangaroo Carry in warmer weather. I also carry an extended 7 round mag as a backup.

I use Remington Golden Saber 185 gr.+P

I carry an SR9 IWB with alien gear holster. I too like the striker fired pistols. I dont carry with one in the chamber yet as I am still somewhat new. But I will be at some point. Safety is always on and have been training in swiping it down when drawing. It comes pretty natural to me already. Dont see why you wouldnt carry like that as you mentioned, the negligent discharge is pretty much null when doing that.

Front jeans or cargo shorts pocket, Nemesis pocket holster, Either a Glock 26 or a S&W 640 J-frame.
Works well for me, even shirtless at the beach, in the Florida sun.

I carry a 50s Colt Cobra 38 spl., a Colt New Agent 1911 compact 45 acp, or an NAA 22 mag. I usually have 2 of the 3, and at times I will have all 3.

Springfield Armory Stainless Steel Loaded Champion
Ruger SP101, that pretty engraved one.
NAA .380 Guardian.

Yeah, I do favor stainless steel because I carry mine in my front pocket

Love the 1911s Nipperdog. I'm a huge fan of the perfect pistol. I have a few in my stable.

SR9c in N82 pro, LC9s in Custom leather or LCP Custom in Concealment Express Kydex depending on the day and place. The LCP Custom has become my everyday, everywhere gun and the others replace it when I feel I can carry or should carry more.
