If I knew I was going to be in a gunfight? Why would someone, other than military, or LE intentionally go to a gunfight.

And where is " NONE OF THE ABOVE" ?

Here is what I want for an UNKNOWN gunfight in the morning. .

I chose the AR 15 platform, but in reality, if I knew I was going to be in a gunfight this morning, I would stay at home.

I agree with most of the other posts already. It's a loaded question, therefore all the given answers are completely null and void. Location is never specified. I suppose this is all based on the opinion of some "tacticool cowboy expert", who has a total hard on for this type of nonsense?

Fine, I'll play along. I have a pretty good imagination. Since there is no caliber specified for either weapon system, nor is there a total limited number of said available ammo. I'll take an ar platform, but not in the standard 5.56......oh no. I'm thinking something in either .458 socom, or .300 blackout(with suppressor of course), with all the trimmings. Hell, you know what? I will take both and switch between the two. Even if it's just switching uppers back and forth. I mean, if he isn't going to establish simple rules to the game, technically, I haven't broken them. And while we're "bending" said rules. I am going to assume that my "target" is unaware of the impending conflict. Therefore, giving me the upper hand.....the element of surprise. Not to mention the setting of traps and diversionary tactics. Cry havoc, and let loose the dogs of war!

So,.....How did I do? Did I guess right?

Based on me knowing I'm going to be in a gun fight... I'd opt for the 12 gauge loaded with "00" Buckshot.

I would use the same weapon I CCW....any day could be the day you are in the unexpected fight for your life. I will add its not some tiny pocket pistol that so many carry...because they are easy to carry/conceal...have one inch barrel or so...and griped with two fingers...only useful at extended ranges of ten feet or so....

Didn't get as much response as I thought it might, so I'll give a little explanation and THE correct answer.

This question came from a guy that is an instructor for one of the defensive training schools. Teaches firearms, batons, etc. He is also a certified instructor for CCW classes in a few states.

The question is VERY vague, and he would not elaborate, make your choice.

So here is THE correct answer.

"If I knew that I was going to be in a gun fight this morning, I'd stay in bed!"

The whole intent of this question was to confuse you thinking which weapon, but forgetting the KNOW part. If you KNOW, you can avoid it.

Some replies did state such an answer, and you were correct.

Those of you wanting more info, just as I did, weren't thinking about the KNOW part, and got caught up in the weapons.

Just as the instructor intended!

Trick question. I wouldn't leave the house.

And then I see you've already posted the smart answer

So the person(s) would come to your home and shoot at you in bed.
The way the question is phrased there is no avoiding the gunfight.
Stay in bed, you're going to be in a gunfight.
Go to store, gunfight.
Go fishing, gunfight.
Hide, gunfight.
Since it's unavoidable, shotgun with 00 & slugs.
