This is very similar to an incident that happened in Florida a couple of months ago. Glad the trooper is going to be ok, and props to the civilian that probably saved his life

Thumbs up

And to top it off the citizen who was armed was from California. Hope they let him come home without a hassle.

If this had happened in NJ or MD or DC or HI or any number of other locations, or if it occurred in any of the "gun free zones" in which the government feels people can't be trusted with their guns, we'd be reading about another dead cop.

This happened about 20 miles from here. Good news is that the trooper is doing ok.

This is the other reason why we should slow down when we see law enforcement on the shoulder performing public service. What this Good Samaritan did is a reminder to all of the scum in our society that we are watching and not apathetic to what's going on around us.

Let's hope for a complete recovery of the trooper. The civilian is a hero.

This is a great example of how armed citizens can offer help to law enforcement when needed. This citizen to me was very heroic & save the LEO's life!!!

I love it. The citizen pulls up, asks the Trooper if he needs help, grabs his gun and caps the piece of trash.
