OC is not a problem for those who chose not to, or a problem for that choose to OC. It is a problem for some who can't stand that others lead their lives their own way. These people will need blinders.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like we'll be stuck with only CCW.
Florida should still be able to obtain OC "rights" through legislation. At some point. Seems as if I had read several RINOs elected recently may make that difficult this year.

BTW, that article was anything but unbiased. While they were probably factual on the very basics, I wouldn't want to get "opinion" pieces at that source.

Yep, a RINO in Miami already made it clear that she will kill pro gun bills. Florida's only hope is the federal courts. I believe campus carry, and airport carry are now dead.

They were amazingly biased, but I had heard it already. When I Googled it, this was the first and only internet site to mention it. FWIW, I am firmly an independent, having removed myself from the Republican party this past year.

I always enjoy the discussions of "open vs. concealed carry"...Living in California none of that is an issue....most of the state's major population areas (the Liberal strongholds) have no legal carry allowed, period...that is not to say that folks don't carry..we got gang bangers that are better equipped than the military...but the folks that abide by the silly laws can't carry at all...

We had an issue in a few of the larger counties were open carry of an unloaded gun was allowed and of course some of our really smart aleck gun owners made a huge issue by challenging the law at every turn and even went so far as to video tape the LEO's challenging the right and wanting to check for unloaded condition, etc and that was the end of any of that.

Be glad there are places that follow the Constitution and the right to carry is in place.

The youtube link is something I do not mean to post to either endorse nor challenge any of it...there are literally hundreds of videos like this where the laws are "challenged"...I post it to only point out that the numerous situations like this where a citizen sets out with a camera to challenge the police..caused our Legislature to pass a bill that outlawed all kinds of open carry...it just puts things concerning carry further away from the rest of us when it happens.

While the FL Supreme Court may have ruled that open carry is not a right provided for by the constitution, there are still other firearm related bills before the FL legislators.

As FL law stands now, if someone with a permit were to accidentally display their firearm (say they reach for a top shelf and 'display' a pistol in their waistband), they could technically be charged with a second degree misdemeanor.

Proposed changes to that legislation would make such a display a non-criminal violation with a potential $25 fine.

Now THAT is a true commonsense gun law!

Well if SCOTUS rules in favor of Norman, your politicians are screwed.
