ummm guessing the employee didn't draw his gun first...

interesting there's a history of prior employment, perhaps the employee(s) had a very good reason to feel their well being was in jeopardy based on past experience with this person.

former employee returns to work place with a weapon, usually doesnt end well for the prior co-workers.

not sure there's much more to look into, but that should be left to the law/judicial system.

Typical bad guy parents comments.......... So let me understand this, the pizza oven guy should be investigated by Pizza Hut for violating company policy and he shot the bad guy with a gun trying to rob the place because of some previous work encounters. However, it couldn't have been that the bad guy came to Pizza Hut to rob and shoot up the place because of those same negative encounters.

Regarding the head shot, I'd say if you were standing very close to the bad guys left the head is the obvious place to shoot. If you are farther away, it's a luck shot to hit them there.

Woman is a moron! Her opinion, and wishes for prosecution of the employee will not happen, not in NC.

What I am concerned about is the employee if Pizza Hut will stand behind him, or fire him. I have no doubt his carrying was against policy, but without his diligence to his own safety some innocent person might have been killed.

This is a lesson for would be thugs, ya just don't know who is armed despite rules.

We don't need no stinkin rules!

Tried to contact corporate Pizza hut to voice support for the employee but only could get a recording. Email leads to questions about dining.

Yikes
Let's turn this around 180 degrees.
The Employee's Life has just been changed Dramatically for the rest of Time.
No one knows exactly what He is going through.
He will be a changed Man.
I wish all the Best for Him.
The New Sign of the Times the Employee probably did Save Lives.
When I was growing up it was a Given 'You Live by the Sword, You Die by the Sword'.
That has Not Changed.

These parents are perfect examples of what is wrong in our culture today. I was nauseated watching the video. DISGUSTING! I feel for the employee that had to pull the trigger in self defense. I hope he comes out ok. That the parents blame the victim is obscene. I would be too embarrassed to be interviewed if I had raised an armed robber. I'm glad there is one less thug in Charlotte.

If you are desperate and down on your luck I don't think pulling a gun and trying to rob someplace is your best option. I hope this works out for the pizza hut employee I will be praying for him. I also pray for the mother and father of the BG. They must be in a lot of pain.
Don't take me wrong, the BG got what was coming to him. I just could not fathom the loss of a child, no matter how old they are.

PLUS ONE. I am the OP. I have gone back and watched this video several times. My heart goes out to the parents. The loss is real and despite the fact that the parents accept no responsibility for raising a BG, they're grieving and I'm sympathetic to that. I pray over time the mother finds her way to asking the right set of questions.

The employee who more than likely saved others lives is a victim in this case. He'll be haunted by this no matter how justified.

Watch it again and the guy who deserves the most scorn is the reporter. He definitely should lose his job.

Welcome to the liberal press of America. Where if you are a hard working, tax paying, male, it's your fault. Doesn't matter what the truth is in this politically correct society we live in today, the media is going to spin it 180 degrees. This is why I only watch the news for the weather forecast, and they can't get that right half the time. And yes I live in NC. Home of protests, riots, and arson, when things go wrong for the criminals.

It amazes me when as management of a large chain store we were told as a last resort employees should defend themselves from an active shooter but my swiss army knife is not allowed as anything anyone could consider a weapon is grounds for immediate dismissal. I will not mention the company but the people I manage wear blue vests.

Crappy internet so I could not watch vid but...

A number of years ago a former business partner of mine was managing a Pizza Hut in California. A week prior to his event I was robbed at my store, a Carl's Jr., by three men. Two with semi-auto's and 1 with a AK. I did not have a permit for California but my former partner did. He was closing that night with a gal that was 7 month's preggo. He followed Pizza Hut's robbery policy and did not pull his weapon till one of them used that same AK and knocked his employee across her head. At that point he pulled his weapon and killed all three of them. Police responded and after watching the store video gave him his weapon back and sent him home. Pizza Hut kindly thanked him by firing him the next morning. The three men had been hitting many fast food operations in the area for weeks and the police could not catch them. I was able to I.D. two of the BG's as the ones that had robbed me the week prior.
If Pizza Hut fires this employee, send him my way. I will give him a job.

Oh boo whoo you raised a predator that was carrying out an armed robbery and he got shot. Give the pizza hut employee a marksmanship award, a monetary bonus and we have one less convicted felon to clog up the prison system.
