What is a comfortable cross draw body holster for a GP100 SS 6" barrell. I'm 6'0" 185# slim build. I just want to carry it when hunting and walking my land. Maybe border line concealed .

I just had one made for my Alaskan from Mernickle. I got the "Bear Paw" (FC13) I believe is the model #. Go to MERNICKLE HOLSTERS and select the field carry section, great quality. I haven't figured out how to post pics or I would. Also, I have heard lots of good things about Simply Rugged.

I got a Bianchi #5BHL from Optics Planet.com. for my 6" GP-100. It is a good looking, rugged, lined holster for general purpose carry. It is available in left or right hand. As stated above, I also hear good things about the Simply Rugged holsters. As a matter of fact, I am supposed to get mine today for my 3" SP-101. Good luck!

I have this same holster for my 4" and hardly ever use it. But they are great holsters. I prefer a conceal holster like the Galco Summer Concealment. I can see myself using the Bianchi when concealing is not an issue for sure. Can never have too many holsters. Quote:

You said cross draw and I don't thing the Bianchi 5BHL will fit that description. I use a 111 Cyclone for my 5" 629 and a Galco Pheonix for my Vaqueros and cary all cross draw. I use Simply Rugged for my GP100, 1911 & 3" 629, they are very comfortable but have not used them in the cross draw mode yet since these are my CCW pieces, guess I will have to give it a try today. ![]() |

IMO, the best is Mitch Rosen's stuff. Costs more but you get what you pay for. FAR above the mass produced production line fodder.

Get a GALCO DAO and just wear it over on the other side.
