Either in a Steer Clear holster mounted under the steering wheel or in a Grassburr holster mounted on the center console depending on which vehicle I'm in.

I leave it right in my OWB holster where it always is. I dont feel comfortable with having it off body. If I get in an accident, my car goes on fire, my 500 ft radar isnt working and I am dragged from the car.... ok the last one is highly unlikely but .. still I want my gun with me and not with my car.

The second issue which may or not be relevant is my belief that the less I mess around with my gun the less likely I am to have an accident. While I am always very careful and have carried for decades.. stuff happens and I dont need to add new ways to do dumb things on accident.

Have one each... under the two front seats in my Tundra. Two on the back of the front seats hanging on holsters sewn into the seat covers. Two behind the back passenger seats... and one located where my tire-change tools are located.

Not includin' what I wear on me.

When I'm driving, 99.9% of the time it's on me. For those rare times that I have to go somewhere that doesn't allow firearms (Post Office etc.) it goes in the center console and the vehicle papers are in the glovebox. The center console is locking so it's fairly safe for the short time it's unattended.

With my EDC It's always on me at 430 in a Alien Gear. While in the car I do take my wallet out of my back pocket and put it in the door handle pocket. This way I don't look like I am reaching for my weapon when I am trying to get my wallet out. I always wear a seatbelt. I have a drill that I do, if car jacked for example, makes it look like I am taking off my seatbelt only but in doing so I also pull my weapon. I very rarely will ever go anywhere where I am not allowed to carry but if I do my glove box has been replaced with a smittybuilt lock box insert. Might was well be in the safe at home when it's in that lock box... it's even fire rated!!

Not always, but depending on where I am going and how far away, I often put my handgun in a pouch under my steering wheel.
I adapted the Gum Creek GCC-UVHHM-BLK Vehicle Handgun Mount Clip to hold my milsurp electronics pouch by drilling a hole through the aluminum brace and used shoelaces to attach the pouch.
The pouch actually hides the LCR or Glock G26 but it is available for immediate access if necessary

My LCR is in the pouch in the photo.
The mount rig is easily and quickly removed when getting a car wash or when not wanted, and just as easily remounted.

I either keep it on my hip (99% of the time) or in an open pistol rug between my seat & the center console. It's not clearly visible from outside the vehicle & is still within easy reach.

He's right.

What's the point of changing the way you carry, as you go?

Unless your state mandates differently, leave it in the holster.

I generally try to always carry in my holster on my hip while driving the car.

Was taught in training to carry that way in case of a car jacking attempt.
