| Cell Pal Concealment Holster
I just saw a video on the Cell Pal concealment holster on You Tube, it looked
like it might work for My Glock 27 and Ruger SP101. I was hoping someone out there had some comments - either Pro or Con regarding this holster.

I have one and it conceals well. You have to practice drawing your weapon as you will need to hands and three steps to draw it. Make sure you get the phone case or metal clip from them.

Not trying to be too rude about it, but when I watched the video I thought it would only work for fat guys. Theres no way I could wear pants loose enough to pass a pistol without them falling right off my body.

I've seen those too. At first I thought it looked like a good idea, but then after seeing the guy draw the weapon, I can see how you would have to wiggle the holster just right to get it passed your belt. Personally I just think and IWB holster would be just fine for me. And, if you want to clip a pager/phone to the loop of the IWB, it would make just and inconspicuous.

I can rip out the Pager Pal and grab my SP101 fairly quickly... what worries me is how involved it is (1. tug belt/waistband with right hand; 2. extract holster/gun with left hand; 3. extract gun from holster with right hand... and probably 4. throw holster (as distraction) at target with left hand.

The Pager Pal is an excellent solution - for the wrong problem.
I would wear an ankle holster (which I hate) before a Pager Pal.

As an experienced fat guy, I would like to point something out. My belt is so tight trying to keep my belly from pushing my pants down, a hand is a very tight squeeze. A hand containing a gun, no way.
I have used a Galco push up holster on my hip. The grip rides under your belt, you push the gun up with one finger and pull it out with your thumb and another finger. It's not as easy as a normal IWB holster, but it is very concealable with a small gun and a lot more doable for me than the Pager Pal would be.

I bought a Pager Pal several years ago at a gun show. The guy was a great salesman and could work it very well. It did not take me long to figure out that it would not work for me. It's been sitting in the closet for a long time. |
