Old Army triple 7 charge.

Ihave a Ruger Old Army revolver but because of the legal restrictions on buying and transporting Black Powder I use triple 7 as a propellant.
This works well but shoots way high,
Can anyone tell me the correct charge weight for this powder in this weapon?

I've always just used 35 grains, whether with a ball or bullet. It hits high, which is how the old BP revolvers used to hit. The gun itself predates 777 so there's not really a "factory approved" "this-will-work-best" loading. Just play with it and figure out what works for your gun with the projectiles that you are using. Don't sweat overloading the gun with BP or substitutes - I don't believe you can.

I've got several English friends and a couple of English relatives who are into muzzle loaders. Welcome to the forum!

My starting load of Triple Se7en for the ROA was 30 grains. Somewhere between 30-35 gr is what I use at the range. As the standard ROA has an adjustable rear sight, why not use it to best advantage?

T7 calls for the 15% reduction. I don't think you can put enough T7 in Ruger to harm it. It's not going to be accurate, but it's pop good. 35gr seems to be the sweet spot of 3F so around 30 for T7. Don't pack it tight, it well be inconstant and may be hard to ignite.

I shoot 40g (by volume) of 777 (I use FFF). Still have plenty of room over the top to put some cream of wheat before seating the ball. Today I shot almost 60 rounds down range... Fun! Also for fun, I loaded the max charge (powder level to face of cylinder) just for kicks as a single shot. No problem ... didn't think there would be. Mine shoots high too. At 15 to 25Y it isn't to bad, but out at 60 Yards you really start to notice when trying to hit a 8" plate ....

Now to fully disassemble and clean tonight.
