This is a discussion on Alliant Black mz within the Black Powder forums, part of the Firearm Forum category; I know this is relatively new, but, does anybody use this? What is the per lb cost? What kind of results are you getting?...

Haven't tried it, but no reason to with BlackHorn 209 on the market. It is by far the best BP substitute available. 90-110 grs, 300 gr. Barnes Original, pricless! No swabbing between shots, clean up is like cleaning your CF Rifle. Lot less smoke, too. Try it, you'll like it!

There is no acceptable substitute for black powder. Inlines are not muzzleloaders, they are merely clumbsy single shot rifles. Muzzleloaders have sidelocks and are either fired using caps or flint and steel......Robin

I have a pound of the BlackMZ but I have not tried it yet. I bought it because unlike BlackHorn 209 it has a lower ignition temperature and can be used in both my inline and my sidelock.
