Black Powder guns.... picture thread...

Havin' two places to post this.... had great help in makin' the decision... I decided to post this thread here.... in the BP Section.

Remember... one day, under a tyrannical U.S.A. regime in a regretfully distant future... your ammo may have to be Black Powder....

Let's see ALL of your BP guns... handguns... rifles... canons... no matter what. I love 'em all...

Gonna start out with my Ruger Old Army’s, of course... the top two in this pic… NIB Ruger Old Army's. (I don't shoot 'em... 'cause I shoot replica Colt Navy '51's. They fit my hands better.)

Some Stainless Colts... 2nd Generations... lotta folks have never heard of ‘em…
Colts Manufacturing Company (through an Italian company surrogate) made 489, 2nd Generation Stainless 1851 Navies in 1982. They also made around 1278, 1860 Armies and 5, 1861 Navies in stainless steel that same year. My 2nd Generation Colts are all listed under Colt's proofhouse. NOTE: As far as Colt claims... the Signature Series 3rd Generation handguns (nice guns) do not exist. You can look up the serial numbers for 3rd Gen's... they just don't exist. If you want to, check it out... click on this link...Colt Serial Number Data

Here are five... out of my eight (now have four of each)... 2nd Generation Colt's... exquisitely made… three 1860’s… two 1851’s…

A cased pair of 1860 Army’s .44’s… 2nd Gen Colt’s…

Three more 1860 Army .44’s… 2nd Gen Colt’s… the bottom Colt is extremely rare with a fluted cylinder…

My beloved southern handgun… a Colt 2nd Gen Robert E. Lee commemorative 1851 Navy…

My nice, but yankee… a Colt 2nd Ulysses S. Grant commemorative 1851 Navy… (I do like it… it is a great firearm)….

My shooters… I shoot all ‘em… two Cimarron’s the “used” pair… two Taylor’s…. the bottom pistol is the most accurate handgun that I HAVE EVER owned. That handgun… has put five shots in a dime-hole… at 50’. Personal best I ever done….

Let's see yore hunters... yore survival guns... yore fun....

Again... one day... in the regretfully distant future... under a tyrannical U.S.A. regime... your only ammo may be BP....

.

my first black powder gun was a 36 caliber hi standard griswold gunnison copy. HI standard made a series of southern revolver copies with italian parts fitted and finished in the us.

This is my coal burning monster...CVA 1847 Colt Walker .44cal. I've had this revolver almost 30 years, and it's still a 'blast' every time I take it out. Just recently took her apart to clean it and polish up the brass. I just picked up 2 more BP revolvers this morning at auction for a song. An FIE Model 1858 Remington .44cal, and a CVA Model 1851 Colt Navy .36cal. I'll post pics of those after I clean, polish the brass, and make 'em look pretty again...

I took these dirty, neglected barn finds I picked up cheap at auction last week and broke them completely down. The bores and cylinders were dirty, but rust free and cleaned up beautifully. I degreased the parts and gave the brass a lot of 'love' & elbow grease. It's amazing how nice these old girls cleaned up. Now it's off to the range with some Goex, balls and caps to see what they can do. The top is a F.I.E. Model 1858 Remington .44cal, and the bottom is a CVA Model 1851 Colt Navy .36cal...
