When I was a kid , my dad raised Beagles . That was when dogs slept outside in the dog house . Now they would have you up on cruelty charges . Had to put a heat lamp over the litter and move them into the cellar in the winter .
I always said I never want to live where I can't pee off the porch . When I moved here in 1984 , I built my house as far from the road as possible . Next I planted dozens of evergreen trees between me and the road . Today you can't see the house from the road and it is a secondary road . Use to be dirt . If I had 100 acres I would build my house in the center .
Did that outside range membership pan out , Dave ? Well , anyway , keep in touch . And don't let the negative news get you down . Stress will kill you . Good news I read that runners live 3 years longer than everyone else .

You are a lucky Man Pennsy. Yes, Runners live 3 years longer and living in the city you live 10 years less. I need to move soon.

If your Dad raised Beagles, then he was a good man for sure.

Yes the slave history was grossly distorted. I love the history of the Civil War. I live in Virginia, rich in Civil War history. Love visiting so many of the battle field sights. The school systems are now butchering the history of the civil war. Our heritage is attacked every day, statutes destroyed and even the "Son of the Confederacy" a group of most historians and proud Virginians are constantly being attacked. All this is some sick way of "being Politically Correct.
One of my favorite books is "THE CIVIL WAR" By Bruce Canton.
A complete history of the war from the the very beginning and Prewar.
Would love to someday go to the Gettysburg reenactment. So hard to imagine what those few days must have been like.

Yes, seeing the Gettysburg reenactment would be something.

I believe our history is who we are. Burying any part of it takes away from our heritage.
