ROL conical loads

Thinking about trying some conicals in my OA. Been shooting all RB for years.
Actually two question to start.

What is a good RB hunting load for the OA? I will be using T7 since I have a few pounds of it.

Second question is what is a good reasonably priced mold for conicals and what is the charge your using? How is the Lee mold? Also what weight would you suggest for very close in deer? I use the OA as a final shot if needed. I may use it out to maybe 15 yards or so.

thanks for the help

I bought a lee conical mold at a yard sale I have no problem with it.the mold makes a real nice bullet. It is a 200g lee R.E.A.L. usually shoot out of rifles but shoots real good out of my roa.they load very easily they are very accurate.

The Lee mould for the Old Army makes a great bullet. Very accurate.

.457 is the preferred size for the ROA from what I've read and been told.

Yes indeed. .457 is the winner. It shaves off a nice ring of lead as you seat the ball, for a nice tight fit. .454's are too loose in my experience.

The Lee mold makes a great conical for the OA, and it shaves off a nice ring of lead to seal perfectly with pure lead.
