Best ammo for Ruger 77/44

Hey all.
I really enjoy my 77/44 bolt action and I would like you advice for the best factory rounds for hog hunting and general shooting.

If I get into reloading, what are the better boolets to load for the 77/44?

So far I have shot WW box 240 grains and they shhot well, just not a smooth feeder. PMC 180 SJHP feed well but not quite as hard hitting.

Hey Dale - On the advice of the Indiana shop where I bought my walnut stocked and blued 77/44 (and where they are limited to handgun calibers or slugs for deer) I use Winchester Platinum Tip 250 GR PTHP. The 77/44 seems to like them and they do seem to group a little better than the WWB plinking ammo, but my wallet doesn't like them so much. Based on the cost per box they must actually be tipped in real platinum...

(About $1.50 each if you can find them.)

Thanks.
I have never heard or seen them before. I also have the walnut stock, sweet looking rifle.
Will google the Winchester Platinum Tip and see if I can find some.

I've used several factory loads without any problems in my 77/44. Federal American Eagle did split the cases on three cases, however.

I also reload. I've only loaded Hornady XTP bullets, 180 gr and 240 gr, with various charges and they were all accurate. Reloading can tailor recoil too, just don't do what I did and mix up your loads. I shot some light loads, thinking that the recoil was soft, then a full house load popped me in the shoulder. Just a surprise that shouldn't have happened.
