The "ammo shortage" is a myth. the factories are still producing TONS of ammo. the problem is there are people that are buying like 4000 rounds at a time then selling it on the internet for 40-80 dollars for a brick. the way we solve this is people need to STOP buying .22lr from auctions online, and stop panic buying thousands of rounds. personally i would have a hard time not buying more than one brick if they became available but i'm not the only one who needs this ammo. we need to support each other.

Where can you buy 4,000 rounds? Tell me and I'll go buy some and sell it on the internet for $80 a brick.

This just isn't something you can control. Supply and demand.

The good news is someday it will catch up!

A true shortage sometimes can be controled but this is more of a run on ammo. A run on a commodity is almost never controlled until the supply increases. Since it is hard to increase the production the only other way is to hold ammo back and then flood the market. I've said this before and few agree with me. So let the hate posts begin.

If I were an ammo manufacturer, I'd resist the urge to tool up for increased production in a fever like this but I can't see supply chain stoppage by anyone. Unless profit is a motive.

I think the manufactures know that an unstable market is not in their best long term interest and they are not the ones making the killing. Because of the high profit potential there are now increased middlemen who are taking a gamble that the market will stay high and are buying when and whereever they can and selling it for a high profit.

By holding back the supply from the manufacturing side they can then flood the market and put the middleman out of business while not allowing the prices to drop back to where they were in November. In a few months expect ammo to return in mass and at 10 to 20% higher prices than in November.

Don't worry.

If we actually start to run out of ammo, I'm sure the government will have FEMA begin air-dropping cases of ammo to the hardest hit disaster areas.

Relax. Everything will be ok.

From CCI's FAQ:
http://www.cci-ammunition.com/education/faqs.aspx

They're cranking it out as fast as they can. I think it will just be a while before people are a) bored with the subject and go back to lawn darts for example or b) properly sated.

I think "a" has happened to an extent and "b" is what will take a while. Unfortunately.

After that, stock will start to accumulate.

I found a distributor with a ton of CCI Velocitors on hand so I had them send 10 bricks of 500 to my local gun store. Picked 'em up yesterday!! Bought the last two bricks of Stingers while I was there too.
This is NOT going to get better... my opinion doesn't matter but I think this is all small part of a MUCH bigger agenda that's going on...

Wish I was wrong, but I know I'm not.

Have a great day, guys!

Oh boy some people are so crazy. I can find ammo all day long every day here in Utah just have to spend five minutes on the phone and take a short drive to town. Prices are high about 40$ to 49 $ for a brick of 500 but there are there every time I need them. I do not stock pile them just shoot them all summer long with the kids.
