Where I live in Michigan I have seen 22 LR ammo priced anywhere from $2.99 at one gun shop to $6.99 and up at another. Gouging is what I call that. Most have a limit on how much you can buy.. Just my thoughts. Grade6man
P.S. Just bought a Ruger SR22 a few weeks ago and am having fun shooting it....

Local places here have it 525 / $30. I had some in my hand, but put it back down. It was a decent deal for now, but I'm still trying to be optimistic that it's going to come back down.

I paid $7.50 / 100 the other day, but I also saw it for $12.00 / 100 today at a LGS and they were limiting to a single box per customer. needless to say, I didn't buy it. Haven't seen a bulk box in months.

Beats me. It's extinct at the LGS's. I know shotgun shells are everywhere.

The prices here are horrific on 22lr. In the last two weeks I have seen three bricks of 22 at some of my LGS. I considered buying them for friends who have 22's but the prices on the three bricks were $50,55,55. I decided to allow the shops to keep them.

This will go on for at least 6 more months I think. Or until all of us on all of these boards have hoarded what we think we need!
...maybe next year you'll be able to casually stroll in and get a brick of Super-X, say, for 25 bucks again!

I scored a brick of CCI Blazer, PMC Sidewinder, Golden Bullets and Winchester 525's for $39.95 each at my LGS 6 weeks ago.
Granted, I couldn't find any 22lr anywhere at any price, (just purchased a Ruger SR22) so money was absolutely no object, I was just thrilled with finding some ammo.
Since then, I've developed better shopping habits though.

Most I've ever paid was .07 for Mini-Mags ($6.99 per hundred). Highest Bulk .22 was $22.99 for the 525 Federal Value Pack. That's 4.4 cents each.
FWIW on .38s, $21.99 for CCI Independence 130 gr FMJ, $24.99 for same style Federal American Eagle, 50 round boxes. That's 44 and 50 cents .
My Hornady XTP 125 gr HP ran $19.99 for 25 rounds, or 80 cents each.
I haven't bought any ammo since December, I think.

I'm happy for less than 6cents/round.

If you can find LR22 ammo around Chicago Illinois you will have to pay your soul for just 1 round! |

Now people are selling premium quality rounds at 3-5 times the normal price and they are their to be had for hours instead of only seconds...
