Walmart and Kmart have long standing policies on that, and that's different. (though I don't shop at either, anyway, if I can help it). It was the way that Dick's threw us gun owners under the bus as soon as Obama started talking about guns. It's like biting the hand that feeds you.

You are free to shop where you want. But remember if someone treats you like crap, but you don't hold them accountable, they'll just continue to treat you like crap.

I don't see where not selling certain items is treating me like crap. By the way I don't shop at Dick's because even when they had black rifles I thought they were rude. But if they had a sale on 22 LR Federal Value Packs for $18 I would be beating their door down.

In my previous response I kind of explained it. It's not what they do or do not sell, it's how they did it. They were more than willing to take our money when we bought a certain kind of gun, but as soon as the president came out and started talking about certain guns being evil, Dicks was fast to say, "Yup, those are evil guns, and our customers just can't be trusted with them, so we're talking them off our shelves." It's kind of a slap in the face to us. Some will even argue they're going against the spirit of the 2nd amendment. You're right, it's they're right to stop selling. And it's our right to stop shopping there.

If you continue to buy from them, you're voting with your wallet, and telling them that this is acceptable.

+1
I know I have a clear conscience. Over the years I think I've been in a Dick's twice maybe three times. I honestly don't remember ever buying anything from them. They either didn't have what I needed or they were too high on it. About 2 years ago I went in Dick's in desperate need of 209 primers for the inline BP rifle. Win 209’s wouldn’t work in the T/C Triumph. Dick's was the closest and I was in a hurry. The salesman acted like he didn't know what I was asking for. I explained it and he said no we don't sell them.

the problem ranges from them being "anit-gun" or that they "threw us under the bus" or that they are "anti 2nd amendment". Those that say these things are a little extreme because not selling AR15's any longer is hardly any of the aforementioned things.

On principal I tend to agree that they did so in the wake of Sandy Hook and I think that was knee-jerk to be sure. If that is ones cited reason for their own personal boycott then I have no argument. Was that in poor taste? I think so.

Is acting in poor taste enough to make me boycott anything or anyone? No. On principal and without being a hypocrite it is extremely difficult to live in this world if you go around boycotting everyone that makes poor choices. You couldnt watch TV, Movies or listen to the radio if you boycotted poor taste where ever it appeared.

It would be one thing if they divested themselves of all guns and ammo for their cited reasons and that would prevent me going in their stores...they didnt though. They just acted in poor taste in removing AR15's from their inventory...but only for the reasons given.

Thats just my opinion...feel free to boycott them and spread the word far and wide. That only reduces the numbers competing for the ammo they get in stock which helps me so please, BOYCOTT for all the right and wrong reasons.

By they way, Walmart clubs baby seals and Academy I hear is openly supporting gay marriage! Definitely want to get people to stop supporting these blights on society as well.

When it comes to movies/TV/Music, you don't have much choice. You either don't watch/listen, or you put up with liberals running their cock-holsters. With Dicks, there are any choices in finding guns/ammo. Now, if you lives one place and that's all you have within reasonable driving distance, that's a different story. WIth you, being in Tx, I doubt Dicks is the best place to go.

I'm not going to choose to support businesses that have policies I don't agree with. To each his own.

You mean the one that seems to escape everyone else? I mean you have principals or you have limited principals right?
