Just bought a box of 9mm at Wallyworld. Gonna shoot it up today. $9.99 is hard to beat these days. Heck, at that price its cheaper than those yellow 250 round "bulk" boxes of UMC. I know, I know, the UMC is better, but it's still more, even in a bulk package.

| UMC is dangerous junk. If it was the only ammo I could find I'd stop shooting and take up knitting.

My XD's and Glocks eat it up no worries. Have not fed it to my LC9 as of yet, but will see what happens.
Works well for "on the cheap".

I've been using it for target practice in all of my hand guns, sr40c,sr9c and my American classic 1911 commander. The only problem I have with it is I always run out before I'm ready to quit for the day. It is dirty like stated before, but I do strip and clean all of my guns after a day of shooting.

The range i go to does not allow steel cased ammo because they collect the brass and have it reloaded to keep the price down on range time $7 and hour. I use TulAmmo in my SR40 and i like it better than Winchester, Remington and Federal. As to it being dirty, well its a gun and they get dirty when you shoot it, i just field strip it every time i shoot the gun and stick it in the dishwasher on heavy load and it comes out sparkling cleen |

If you want to cut your ammo cost, learn to reload. Or maybe have a friend do it.

(I have no idea if they have a steel core or not.)
They allow Blazer aluminum on their range though and I see plenty of aluminum cases, which would seem to be a real pain to sort out. At least with steel all you need is a big magnet to remove it from the brass. Seems a human would have to visually sort out aluminum.

This is what i have heard is the problem, the steel core can ricochet and start a fire. All i know is it's $5 a box cheeper than Federal, $8 cheeper than Winchester and $10 cheeper than Remington and it shoots great in my gun and i get all my anger out shooting up a bunch of water jugs.

I just checked and it doesn't appear that Tula is necessarily that much less.
SGammo lists a 1,000 round case of Tula .45 ACP at $304 vs the $322 it would cost for reloads at Freedom Munitions (I included shipping in both). Not a huge savings.
When it comes to 9mm, then the savings are virtually non-existent. SGammo dosn't have Tula in stock at the moment, but their price was $195.50 vs the $197.32 I could get at Freedom Munitions. Less than $2 difference on an entire case.

I've shot a decent amount of tula, never noticed it to be any dirtier than any of the other cheap ammo, although it does have a different smell to it. Honestly I think the quality is at least as good as most other cheap ammo, and accuracy seems to be better than some. I dont shoot it anymore because I save cases for reloading. My brother uses it almost exclusively in his Beretta 92 and Sig 45, with very few problems. I think the 4" groupings at 25 yards that he shoots regularly with his sig are pretty darn good.
