| Best price on 44 mag rounds?
Besides 22LR's, I have a snubbie and hunting SRH 44 magnums, also one 38 spec and a 22 mag. I'd like to acquire some inexpensive (50 round boxes) of 44 mag that maybe runs a lead 240 grain SWC at 1150 to 1250 and cheap. I've seen adds in "Cheaper Than Dirt" listing that round in a 250 round bulk pack for 129 bucks. Is there cheaper or is that pretty good? Smithy.

That is some low velocity ammo, so IMO cheap yes.

I was shooting sub 1000 fps stuff in 45LC for SASS yet those rounds still put a hurt on game (ie. dropped them just fine), so I'd be satisfied with the 1200 stuff sold here. Easier to shoot as well. Smithy.

Smithy. | Smithy, Freedom Munitions has 250 round boxes for about $113 & that's either SWC or RNFP(both new). I have had good luck with them in 9mm & .380 rounds, both quality & service.

Thanks Michael as that's a few dollars off the Cheaper Than Dirt prices and every dollar counts when it comes to ammo. I reloaded (including casting) when I shot in SASS and large hunks of 45LC for both rifle and revolvers, but now I only have two 44 mags: one for carry/home defense (haven't had to shoot too many folk lately) and the other for hunting (haven't been able to shoot too much game lately, that and lead is a no-no hunting round in California). The other two calibers I have are both carry/home defense guns in 38 spec and 22 mag and again, haven't had to shoot too many folk lately. My "fun" and shoot a lot caliber is 22LR so I have really no need to reload. It'd take me 30 years to recoupe my costs unless I got two Lee loaders. I started out with that and will never go back to banging on live rounds. So all I need are reasonable prices on reasonable loads for two calibers from time to time (ie. not that often). Smithy.
