corebon pow'rball

and if you used it in your sr1911

did it help with (FTF) problems when trying to
use hollow points.

want to find something that works, with out having
all kinds of ammo that the sr1911 doesn't want to feed.

I just shot it in a revolver, it was hard hitting
with impressive energy transfer.

I shot a 150# sow with it out of my 3" Kimber Ultra Carry at 20 yards. I hit her behind the left shoulder in the front part of the rib cage. The bullet did not exit and she ran about 35 yards and dropped dead. I didn't try to dig the bullet out and the buzzards didn't leave any evidence after their free meal so I don't know what kind of shape the bullet was in.
My bullet preference for my .45's is the 230gr Speer Gold Dot SBHP. Going out at between 850 to 890 fps they feed and expand very well.
That said, that Pow'RBall sure dropped that pig.

thanks for the info. I will have to get a box of the stuff and see if
my sr1911 will feed it. I was told and looked at the ammo, it has a some what
of a round nose to help it feed better.

Or may have to try some of the 230gr Speer Gold Dot SBHP.

One way to look at this is it gives me more time at the range
and that can't be a bad thing.

heritage1550 you sure feed your buzzards good out their in Tx.
I would have just left them the gut pile, I guess things are bigger
in Tx. it looks like you gave them the whole hog.

So thanks again

MJD23, normally I put 150# sows in the freezer but I shot this one at midnight and I didn't chase her in the dark after she ran. I found her the next morning along the edge of the woods just off the feeder. Needless to say she was a bit swole up. Porkers are consider varmints in Texas and you can hunt them 24/7, 365 days a year. You're allowed to kill them with anything that's handy including machine guns, mortars, spears, scud missles, etc. The State offered a bounty program not too long ago that gave money to the counties that killed the most pigs. We're overrun with them. They've done plenty of damage to my place and my neighbors so we pop 'em every chance we get.
