'best' ammo for p95

ok, so again, new to firearm ownership (bought my first firearm ever-- ruger 10/22 carbine about a month ago) and new (several weeks) to the forum. just put a down payment on a p95 today, and am wondering what peoples' preferences are for ammo in terms of price/quality/etc. only owning a .22 at this point i don't really have a perspective on 9mm ammo quality and pricing. thoughts?

I like Federal for the range. Its reasonably priced and accurate. Some ppl will tell you to stay away from Remington ammo, but my P95 shoots it just fine. I have also shot Winchester, Hornady and Speer. I have Speer Gold Dots loaded in my P95s for home defense. One nice thing about the 95 is it isnt sensitive about functioning with different ammo. They seem to digest everything from the cheapest to the most expensive.

My P95 has always operated great for range use with Winchester White Box or S&B. Like weblance said, they are not ammo sensitive.

arg0 ... The P95 will digest just about any 9mm ammo out there and I have run a wide variety through mine without issue. For reasonable price and performance, I generally stick with either Federal Champion or Winchester white box.

If its anything like my SR9, it should feed anything. For the price, Fed Champion stuff always did the job, Remington was nice if you want hotter stuff. For HD I have Speer Gold Dots 124gr and then ran great when I tried a box. Had that stuff loaded in the mag for about a year now and just used it up when I ordered some 124+p GDs

The P95 is a very versatile weapon. When it first came out my duty ammo was the Ranger 115+P+ later upgraded to the 127+P+. By the end of the 90's bullet technology changed and the duty ammo updated to the Ranger 147gr T-Series.

Target ammo anything goes. Chinese, Russian, Egyptian, IMI, S&B, aluminum Blazer, as well as all of the American ammo. I shot my own hand loads both jacketed and lead. Dented, moldy milsurp of unknown origin. The P95 never faltered.

I mainly shoot the Remington® UMC 9mm Luger Handgun Ammo Mega Pack at the range. You can usually pick up the 250 pack for under $60. Everything else I've shot has worked fine and just as accurate, even the cheap wolf stuff.
