Sometimes the short barrel loads are also reduced in power for better recoil control in small guns. I think Speer does that in their Gold Dot short barrel loads.

HST's are outstanding technology, but for some reason people are in love with Critical Defense especially in these forums. I don't know why, must be the cool red polymer tip.

I am currently loaded with Hornady's Z-Max Zombie defense rounds. Mainly because they were cheaper than the regular critical defense. I shot a box of those without any issue.

I am interested in getting some +P and seeing how that handles.

My wife runs HydraShok or Speer Gold Dot in her LC9. We have also tried Winchester PD but like Federal and Speer's track record. Not to knock Winchester but just prefer one of the other 2.
