It just Hornaday Critical Defense with a Neon Green Tip instead of Red and a Fancy Box. Picked it up at the Raleigh Gun Show for $21 a Box.

Here's the full legal disclaimer from Hornadays Website

"Disclaimer: Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is NOT a toy (IT IS LIVE AMMUNITION), but is intended only to be used on…ZOMBIES, also known as the living dead, undead, etc. No human being, plant, animal, vegetable or mineral should ever be shot with Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition. Again, we repeat, Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is for use on ZOMBIES ONLY, and that's not a nickname, phrase or cute way of referring to anybody, place or thing. When we say Zombies, we mean…ZOMBIES!"

With all that said I'm sure it will hardly have a problem obliterating these fellows tomorrow night after I pick up my new SR40C

My question is ...are the users of this ammo opening themselves up to untold legal issues if they do use them on a person in a real life or death situation? Even though they would be justified in the shooting or taking of a life? You know how lawyers are these days.

i don't understand all this zombie business. used to be "zombies" were a term used to describe unprepared people walking around after an event (hurricane, etc) on forums. now, there's ammo specifically called zombie ammo-for a make believe creature, or is it?

I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't understand this 'fad'.

Sort of expensive for stocking up against the threat of the undead?

I'd rather get 500 rounds of Ranger 180 grain JHP .40s&w rounds delivered to my door for $164 (which I did) instead of $394 for the equivalent amount of ZM.

Then again, zombies don't respond well to bleed out. It's just head shots that work, right? So the cheapest plinking rounds is all that you need, eh?

Just watched Hornady's "When Varmints Attack!" video. I love their tag line..."Make Dead...PERMANENT!" Absolutely hilarious, and great to see Hornady having a good sense of humour while at the same time promoting real self-defense.

Some of you guys are just no fun. This is designed and marketed with fun and humor in mind. Ammo is still NOT sold to minors and without supervision should be kept away from them as well. This isn't that different to me than all the M4'gery carbines out there.
