cabellas has federal champion on sale for $9.99 a box of 375

that works out to $14 per 525, walmart sells full bricks in the $18-$19 dollar range i believe. i just popped for 16 boxes and used the $20 off $150 coupon.

After buying 10 boxes of it in September, and using 5 of them thus far, I decided to place another order last night. Yeah, Walmart sells the same thing in bigger boxes -- at 28% more per round (before any Cabela discounts that make Walmart even more expensive by comparison).

I bought 6 boxes to use a $10 off $50 min coupon. Will have to consider if I want to buy another 8 to use my other coupon for $10 off $75 min.

They're on backorder 3-4 weeks, which suggests many thought the price was right. Will pick up in store then. No hurry, just stocking up when the price is good.

I'm not sure if I really save anything with such sales. With so much ammo on hand my pistol just eats more. Tuesday it consumed 800 rounds -- 2 x 375 + another little box of 50. That beast is hungry.

The distance to a cabelas form me is 70 miles and 80 to a walmart that sell ammo. I live on a busy street and do not want to order ammo and have it left by the door by ups. I buy my ammo ant a local gunstore that is within 10% of cabelas.

We have Fin Feather & Fir Sportsman shop here in Ohio that has discounted ammo at prices nearly the same as the web discounters. After you add the shipping it makes more sence to buy local. I bought ammo from ATG only to find my local gun shop (FFF) had the same ammo for a buck more. Although that Cabela's price seems good on the 22LR. What do they charge for shipping?

Apparently too good to last as it's now $14.95 as I type this. Might go back down to $9.99 though as they're always playing around with prices. Cabela's prices are rarely the absolute best at regular price, though you can find some great prices there if you come upon a sale & have a coupon to combine it with.

When I bought 10 boxes back in September they had a deal that gave 50 cent shipping (for their 50th anniversary). Not a bad price for sending a hefty 28 pound box.

I bought 7 boxes earlier this month at $15.99 to hit the $100 mark so I could get $20 off. After tax & discount I paid $14.03 per box of 525.

They send you coupons & offers by both snail mail & e-mail if you have a Cabela's Visa. They always have an employee at the door trying to find anybody coming in who doesn't yet have this card.
