Not sure if you mean only brass cased, stell or if m855. Lots of places are sold out or backordered. It's all in the list. Freedom has only reman 5.56 right now. They've had to turn off most of the .223 and 5.56 because there was such a demand they were starting to get backed up too. Here's their 5.56. 5.56 | Sorry about that Mike LOL. Not bad prices, but I have a question. What is the difference between either brass or steele and the m855. Sounds dumb, I know

-- If it's garbage, it's obvious how I'm screwed.
-- If it's good, then I'll want more, but so will everybody else so they'll order several cases just like me & Jack Ross will have us pre-odering for delivery in 2013.

I lack the experience to confirm this, though it would seem like the harder the metal used the more wear there could be. Not sure how dramatic this effect is & there is the obvious cost advantage of steel.

Jack Ross is quality... I already got a case (which is why I pre-ordered another) and it is actually higher powered than Wally world federal.... I did have 1 squib round (out of 800 so far, not bad imo) that felt like a .22 and didn't even budge the slide. Other than that I haven't had a single malfunction out of my 92a1. Quote:

Well its not hard to make a round higher powered than Feds, I always thought they were pretty mediocre. I've had 1 squib out of 2500 round that I reloaded so it looks like I have a better rate
My reloads kill Feds when it comes to power and cleaner burning ammo, get into reloading!

Steel cased ammo comes with different coatings to protect the ammo while in storage and they claim to help the rounds cycle. There's lots of different thoughts on this and I'm sure if you search it you'll come up with lots of different opinions about which ones to use if any. There's brass and zinc plated steel as well as polymer and lacquer coated steel. Some say the coated ammos especially the polyner and lacquer coatings gum up the chambers but then there's also many that say that doesn't happen. Some say the brass and zinc coatings flake off and get into the lower. It all boils down to what your particular rifle likes. I've even seen guys post that they have the same rifle and one guys will cycle one type of ammo fine and the others simply refuses. I'd just try different types a see what happens. Make sure what your rifle is chambered in too. If it says 5.56 it's ok to use both .223 and 5.56x45 but if it says .223 only that's all you should use in it is .223. The M855 ammo has the SS109 FMJ projectile that has a mild steel core and is penetrator ammo. It's not technically ammor piercing but barrier defeating ammo. Goes through windshields, doors and walls better than simple lead core FMJ. The other thing is some ranges won't let you use M855 because they say it can start fires and damages backstops. Oh and no question is dumb especially when it comes to a firearm. | Thanks for the info Mike, can be confusing for a newbie with all thats floating around out there.

I bought 500 rounds of Speer Lawman 9mm from sgammo.com for $10/box and I think shipping added about $20. No tax. Very quick ship and very responsive owner.

Very quick ship and very responsive owner. | I bought from SG recently and was shocked with their speed. I ordered around 6 PM on a Saturday. It arrived Wednesday afternoon. 875 miles away and it's to my door in a few hours less than 4 days.
They say they ship in 1-2 business days. I placed a 2nd order on Friday afternoon & they shipped that same day.
I wish everything moved this fast.

They say they had 220 cases & sold out by 4 PM, so over 3 tons in 8 hours.

Last weekend I ordered another 500 rounds of 9mm for $109 shipped.
