Many years ago as a Range Master for a local casino, one of the Security Chiefs ordered some aluminum cased .38SPL RNL for there officers to qualify with. I'll tell ya that stuff was really bad as I noticed some of the rounds key holing on the targets. The Security Officers that generally shot expert were having a hard time even qualifying. After checking out their revolvers, I noted that the lead round nose ammo we were using was leading up the lands and grooves of there weapons very badly, to the effect they looked like smooth bores. It definitely took a hurricane brush and a lot of Hoppes No.9 in order to get those bores cleaned up again. I do believe the brand name was CCI, but I might be wrong.

I ran a box or two of the 45 through my sr1911, I can't recall having any trouble other than my accuracy was a little worse.

Another problem that occurred was that when it didn't eject the spent casing, the next round was rammed into the stuck shell which pushed the bullet further back into the casing. Needless to say, I didn't attempt to fire that round. On the upside, my Hi-Point 9mm carbine uses the aluminum cased ammo with never a glitch.

Sarkus will become famous soon enough
I've used the Federal Aluminum 9 with no issues in my 9E, as well as two other pistols that also had no issues. My Sub 2000 hates it though.

I've seen it on the shelf at my local Wally. I love my reloads, so I walk right by.
