Many years ago as a Range Master for a local casino, one of the Security Chiefs ordered some aluminum cased .38SPL RNL for there officers to qualify with. I'll tell ya that stuff was really bad as I noticed some of the rounds key holing on the targets. The Security Officers that generally shot expert were having a hard time even qualifying. After checking out their revolvers, I noted that the lead round nose ammo we were using was leading up the lands and grooves of there weapons very badly, to the effect they looked like smooth bores. It definitely took a hurricane brush and a lot of Hoppes No.9 in order to get those bores cleaned up again. I do believe the brand name was CCI, but I might be wrong.
