Planetcat, Sorry if my article confused you .... it never said lighter bullets need a faster twist rate or heavier bullets need a slower twist rate. You are correct .... heavier bullets typically need a faster twist rate .... only because heavier bullets are launched at a lower velocity. Bullet spin rate is determined by multiplying velocity by the twist rate so if the bullet is moving at a slower velocity, the twist rate must be faster to keep it stabilized down range.
