CCI Tactical AR .22 LR

I went to a local gun range. While there I was going to buy some CCI Mini Mag ammo, but they were out. I bought a box of 300 Tactical AR rounds. After I got home I began to think, maybe I made a mistake. I did some reading on the internet and found out the Tactical .22 AR rounds were a good round. I was going to get rid of them, but now I think I'll keep 'em.

Goldenpony, CCI Tactical 22 LR ammo is one of the better bulk grade offerings. It is rated at 1200 fps and has a 40gr bullet.

My own theory on the Tactical is it is the same round an the mini mag 0030 tested thru a shorter "tactical" barrel and sold in 300 round quantity. CCi web site states "Optimized for AR-style function and accuracy
Specifically tested for S&W M&P 15/22".
Just my thoughts on the subject. Love shooting them in mr SR22 and 10/22.

to the OP...
So, how well do the tactical rounds cycle in the mark IV?

I have a couple of 10/22 rifles that love this ammo. It functions and it's accurate.

I love AT Tactical in my 1022 and MK II & III. They have a good muzzle velocity, they're clean shooting, and I prefer the consistency of the AR Tactical 40 gr Round Nose over the CCI Mini Mag 36 gr Hollow Point when target shooting.

Awhile back, I took a few Mini-mag rounds and a few Tactical rounds, and compared them side-by-side. If my memory serves me, I concluded that while they're very similar, the Tactical projectiles had a slightly different shaped nose, and they also had a bunch of wax on them. The idea is that they're optimized to cycle reliably in semi-auto guns with 25'round magazines.

My first day on the range with the new Mark IV Lite, AR TAC was the only ammo I didn't experience FTF's with. Federal LRN, Aguila LRN, and CCI Velocitors all caused FTF's. I'll be stocking up on the AR Tac's.
