Why would anyone buy blanks ?

I just discovered that they sell blank rounds to the public. Having fired blanks more than I cared to, while in the military, I have to ask. WHY ?

I swear you could fire 5000 rounds of live ammo and never get your rifle even 1/10th as dirty as you would firing 5 blank rounds.

Why would a civilian ever purchase them with their own money and why would they ever actually shoot them in a firearm they actually purchased with their own money ?

Because they get tired of saying "Pew, pew pew pew" at the TV while watching movies with their gun in their hand, acting like they're in the action on screen and want to hear the sound of a real gun without destroying their 400" Samsung?

I started my bird dogs with blanks. Also getting horses used the gun shots. Scaring flocks of birds out of berry patches and gardens.
