My 10/22's love it. It even feeds well in the match chambered heavy barrel rifle. That one can be fussy about what eats. Auto-Match is an accurate, affordable load. Buy it.

The older stuff was good. Tried a new batch in a High Standard couple weeks ago, no go. Will try in my Mark II.

Probably my #3 choice behind CCI mini-mags and aquila super extra ammo which has been 100% reliable. If truth be known, I may have mixed up some champions with the auto match when I had very infrequent "stovepipes". It's good stuff right behind the others I mentioned.
My mk 111 22/45 won't feed super x's since the bullets are not rounded and look like a hacksaw was used on the tips! ( hp's).: The Remington vipers I tried had very loose bullet to case fit so I'll pass on Winchester and Remington .22's. Picked up a box of Winchester 9mm nato and it worked fine yesterday. It may be my preferred range ammo Since my zqi and Geco can't be found where I live...

Just finished a range trip with my SR .22.

100 rounds Federal match---5 failure to feed
100 rounds Remington Golden -- all good.
100 rounds CCI Mini's--- all good.
So a 5% failure rate with the Federals.
I guess I will use up what I have of the Federals [a lot] and then stick with the other two.

Interesting. Those have been my top two choices for the last 2-3 years. Before that, I had never seen Aguila.

AutoMatch is good, but I don't think it comes close to actual Match ammunition. At ~$20-22 a box of 325, it isn't a bad option.

Bringing this thread back to life... I ran about 180 rounds through my TacSol barreled 10/22 today, using standard Ruger 10 round mags. I had at least 10 FTEs where the round fired off fine, but did not cycle the action. Accuracy at 25 and 50 yards was excellent, mostly dime to quarter sized groups when I did my part.
Again, when I did my part, I was able to hit a spray paint sized can from 200 yards.

only one brand / type i have ever had consistent trouble with was Remington Thunderbolt... i just wont buy it now.

the Federal Auto Match, and American Eagle all run fine in our SR22 and 10/22's.

that said, none of our .22LR's run anything well (especially non-washed or jacketed lead rounds) when the guns need a cleaning...

overall it is nice to see for the past while .22LR availability returning and prices becoming more reasonable.

Eh

My SR22 and 10/22 don't really like it. I have a lot better luck with Remington golden bullets or CCI. It seems to jam every 20 or so rounds.

I also use the Federal Auto Match a lot. It runs fine through my two Buckmarks. I have been shooting a lot of Aquila stuff lately. I have settled on the ''pistol match'' because it just runs tighter groups in my Buckmarks. I have shot their super high velocity stuff in my Ruger Single Ten and my S&W 617. I mostly shoot out to 30 yards at the range and the high velocity ammo wasn't that good. I am guessing it would be better at much longer distance.

Federal auto match shoots great in my 22/45 lite. It's a little dirty and requires more effort cleaning. Price is right at Dicks when on sale. Have trouble with golden bullets. No longer use them in my MkIII. They are ok in my single six.

Despite running great in several of my other .22s my Mk III hates it.

It's my favorite ammo for both my 22/45 and my S&W 617. Reliable and accurate with no failure to fire or failure to feeds. I've been finding it for $18.99 a box and stocked up on it.

This will be my go-to round for Steel Challenge shooting. After each match I run a snake through the gun and that's about it.
