How do you guys feel about shooting federal champion 9mm aluminum casings through your sr9c? Pros and cons? Is it safe to shoot through these guns? Thanks for your input.

I recently tried some Blazer aluminum cased rounds in my Chief Special 9 mm and they functioned without a hitch. Had my doubts but my shootin buddy gave me a box for zip. I know it's not a SR-9 but it might be okay. My pistol is aluminum frame.

If they feed and cycle your gun then they'll work just fine.

Aluminum cased ammo should only be shot out of locked breech guns not blow back.

I don't know of anyone making a blowback 9x19.

CCI Blazer aluminum case 9mm runs fine in my SR9c (and every other pistol I've used it in). The Federal aluminum case .45 works fine in my SR1911.

I'm sure I will buy some of the $10/box aluminum case 9mm if I ever see it at my local WM (sells out very quickly).

I bought a number of boxes at Wally world, and so far have shot one box from my SR9c with no problems.
Seems like a good bargain for those of us that don't reload.

I've run 200 rounds of Blazer alum. cases through my LC9 and SR9C. Only noticeable difference is that the empty cases spray out over a wider area, including a few that have come straight back at my face. Always wear safety glasses.

Most 9mm carbines are blowback operated. That said, I don't understand the warning against using them in such. I've shot a fair bit of Blazer Aluminum in my CX4, it shoots just like the brass stuff. I've not noticed, nor ever heard of, issues caused from it.

Aurora, you have the Beretta CX4 Storm? I added one recently to the family and at this price need to consider Aluminum. Success with Blazer in the Storm?

I have shot CCI Blazers through my 1911 .45 with no problems. In fact, when they first came out, they had boxer primers and I reloaded about 150 rounds, using 230 grain LRN bullets over 4 grains of Hodgdons Clays, again with nom problems. Keep yer powder dry.........Robin
